Have you seen more peach fuzz pop up since Pantone’s Color of the Year announcement? We sure have—and we are obsessed. Our team at KBAA always eagerly awaits the Pantone Color of the Year selection as color plays such a big role in the work we get to do.

On Pantone’s announcement page, they note, “PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz captures our desire to nurture ourselves and others. It’s a velvety gentle peach tone whose all-embracing spirit enriches mind, body, and soul.” As we were already developing our Spring ‘24 issue of ELEVATE by KBAA ahead of this announcement, we were thrilled to see such a clear connection from our ideation to the industry-leader in color systems.

 

Peach Fuzz infused into abstract art can call to mind a range of different feelings, like this piece from Cynthia Grow.

 

We went into 2024 excited about the idea of Inviting Elegance. We are interested in the idea that art and design can immediately make you feel welcome and comfortable. Peach Fuzz is a perfect reflection of this concept. It’s neutral, but bright. It’s sophisticated, but playful. It’s elevated, but inviting. There aren’t many colors out there that can offer these types of juxtapositions and Peach Fuzz does the trick.

 

 

With the cool fleshy tone of Peach Fuzz, it can even depict human-esque shapes like in “Soft Body Organics 70,” by Vickie Vainionpää (left) or this figure painting by Heidi Lanino (center).
