Philadelphia is known for being a city of firsts and a hub of early American innovation, a distinction earned during the years before 1800 when Philadelphians organized almost all the essential institutions of modern America before they existed across the nation. Representation of this distinguished history can be found across various elements of the art placed by Kevin Barry Art Advisory in The Logan.
From a modern representation of the first American bank in art depicting a woman holding a giant gold coin, to the “Man of Steel” lobby sculpture recalling Philadelphia’s labor and mining industry, the history of the City of Brotherly Love is central to the aesthetic of The Logan. A sculptural piece featuring portraits of famous Philadelphians hangs above guests in the hotel’s lobby and large-scale prints of Philadelphia-native actress Grace Kelly make a statement in the hotel’s halls. Guest suites feature abstract art prints of the First Troop Philadelphia City Cavalry and imagery of bold topiary pieces in vibrant blues and greens that bring sophistication and a pop of color to the guest room suites. KBAA’s work on this project showcases The Logan as a unique hotel experience fit for a city as dynamic as Philadelphia.
