Scott Troxel

Collaborations NEMA Chicago, Union Club Hotel - Purdue University

Scott Troxel is a Philadelphia-based painter and sculptor. He is best known for his work in the form of wood mixed media wall sculpture. Troxel feels most at home expressing himself through a three dimensional medium. Always exploring materials and processes, he sometimes uses repurposed and found materials in his work. Troxel identifies as a purely abstract artist, often starting out with a sketch or design and working through the rest of the creative process, hands on. His pieces always take several weeks to finish as as they are constantly being changed until they feel “just right”.

Scott Troxel’s work can be found in the corporate art collections of various properties, including Westin Hotels, Temple University, Price Waterhouse Cooper and the Capital One Corporate Headquarters.

As an artist, I draw inspiration from all disciplines of art and design. I love the way mid-century modern design incorporates wood but uses it in a way that makes it feel futuristic and sleek which is difficult to do with an organic material.
