Katie Meuser is a Nebraska-native whose first muse was the local wildlife. Now based in Chicago, Meuser describes herself as an abstract expressionist painter who uses water to bend realistic images until they reflect an emotional state. Working in layers of acrylics, pigments, ink and spray paint, she creates visual depth that guides the eye across her work.
Katie Meuser’s use of canvas is as flexible as her approach to art. Her largest works are murals created for commercial spaces in Chicago, like the Capital One Cafe. Her canvases include original pieces and commissions. They function both as a part of private art collections and as focal points of rooms by local interior designers.
