HSS Hudson Yards

Art curation inspired by calm blue hues and the beauty of geometry.

The new HSS Hudson Yards is a top-ranking holistic, coordinated musculoskeletal care hospital based in Manhattan’s West Side. Following the trend of healthcare moving from large hospitals to smaller, local clinics, this comprehensive care center is closer to home and to its patients. For this project, our design objective was to curate an art collection that would transition a patient from the hustle and bustle of the city to the serenity of the HSS experience.

By combining the naturally calming qualities of blue hues and clean geometric lines, the artwork at HSS Hudson Yards was curated to inspire tranquility. The statement piece of the art collection is a large-scale cascading wall sculpture composed of hundreds of painted resin cubes. The shape and color of the individual pieces pays homage to the blue square in the HSS logo and the brand’s colorways. In the waiting areas, check-in and exam rooms, custom artwork designed by our in-house design team offers unique and visually engaging art moments for patients.
