KBAA Artist Studio Visit: Liz Robb

Liz’s work is grounded in ancient traditions and techniques of weaving and dyeing, made modern in her hands.

Our featured artist for April is soft sculpture and textile artist, Liz Robb. Liz’s work is grounded in ancient traditions and techniques of weaving and dyeing, made modern in her hands. To see some examples of her work, head over to her profile on our featured artist page.

Earlier this year, the KBAA team visited Liz in her adorable, sun-lit home studio in Los Angeles to learn more about her artistic practice. She had just returned from a trip to Oaxaca, Mexico where she was inspired by the dyeing and weaving practices of the region’s indigenous people. We loved hearing about what moves her about traditional craftsmanship, and we got into some interesting conversations about the primal connection humans have to fabric and textile.
