Lauren Williams

Dallas native Lauren Williams always had an interest in art and design but never studied it formally. As a self-taught painter, Lauren wanted to create an alternative to canvas art for an empty wall in her home. By suspending hundreds of single fiber strands from a wooden dowel, Lauren created a tapestry and deepened the texture by adding multiple layers of dye, oftentimes dipping each strand one by one, when the design calls for it. The result was a one-of-a-kind wall hanging that added interest and originality to her space.

Soon after marketing her first fiber creation, Lauren began receiving requests for her artwork and began creating her Canvas With Movement® tapestries for art collectors.Six years and thousands of pieces later, Lauren’s Canvas with Movement® tapestries, signature mixed media paintings, and home products are incorporated into homes, restaurants, hotels and event spaces by top interior designers around the world. What started as a solution to a blank wall with budget restrictions, has since evolved into a thriving art business.
