Dave Lavernia is a Cuban-American muralist, street artist and painter based out of Miami, Florida. Drawing from his South Florida and Caribbean roots, he is inspired by color, nature, animals and frequently uses his platform to draw awareness to conservation efforts and animal advocacy. Lavernia’s work can be experienced in many parts of the country as well as abroad.
My process will start off with a ten minute conversation with a client. Often times I’ll sketch while we’re talking so they can tell me what they like and don’t like. If it’s for a mural I’ll take some notes and help guide them toward what they’re looking for. It’s always interesting to see what people commission.
