The magic is usually in the little things selected with intention. Sometimes it is hard to know where to start, so we connected with our art advisor and curated a list of ideas on how to help make life feel a bit richer!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Read a luxurious book (or just place one on your coffee table).<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Whether you&#8217;re an avid reader or simply someone who collects beautiful books for the atmosphere they create, literature is luxury. I used Artifact Uprising to create one from my family\u2019s trip to Italy, and it really is the perfect coffee table book. There\u2019s something so elevated about having a beautifully designed, completely personal piece on display. Scott Fitzgerald instantly comes to mind. I think of the extravagant West Egg estate, luxury vehicles, and over-the-top alcohol-fuel gatherings. I think of the 1920s Art Deco era, the flashy fashion of &#8220;New Money&#8221;, and gilded everything. However, the luxuries showcased in this classic novel do act as a mask for loneliness, a deep desire for human connection, and the hollowness of the American Dream. It is revealed that money cannot buy happiness and that the one true luxury of life is our ability to love and be loved in return.\u201d \u2013 Jade Salazar, Senior Art Advisor<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Send a postcard made by an artist (or make one yourself)!<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Did you know almost anything can become a postcard? You could literally cut a 4 x 6 inch rectangle from a cereal box, add the correct postage and address, and USPS will send it on its way. That got us thinking\u2026 from repurposing old art prints that no longer fit your interior style to convincing your favorite artist to create a collectible postcard series, there are so many fun ways to embrace snail mail. If these postcards were printed on a metallic substrate or hand embellished with custom gold linework, or even adding real dimensional jewels (no budget limiting the materiality here\u2026) that would make these unique works even more special and unique.\u201d<\/p>\n<cite>Jade Salazar, Senior Art Advisor<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Seek out a special art gallery (or pop into one you happen to walk by).<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Of course, our KBAA art advisors never turn down an art gallery. Whether it\u2019s a tiny gallery tucked into a small town or a massive installation in the middle of a major city, we\u2019ll happily wander through them all. And if purchasing a piece isn\u2019t in the cards, one of the best ways to support artists is simply by sharing their work. Posting about an artist or gallery on social media helps keep creative communities thriving. Even if your audience is just a small circle of your pals, sharing that inspo is incredibly meaningful. Here are a few lesser-known faves to add to your list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe Momentary in Bentonville, Arkansas! It is an extension of Alice Walton&#8217;s Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art (which is incredible as well, but already well-known) that focuses on contemporary art and live music. It is a converted Kraft Cheese Factory, so it has an extremely industrial feel. There are permanent sculptures and murals all over the property as well as interesting exhibits throughout the year with a wide-variety of both well-known and up-and-coming artists. There is also a rooftop bar that has four walls of windows where you can see the beautiful Arkansas landscape for miles on end. It\u2019s free to the public and has a gallery space downstairs with rotating contemporary artist exhibitions, while upstairs features a small museum collection of wood artworks and sculptural pieces. It feels like such a hidden gem among some of the larger, more well known museums in the city.\u201d \u2013 Jessica Giardino, Art Advisor<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Host a dinner party (you don\u2019t even have to cook)!<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our last suggestion for making life feel a little more luxurious and special? Host the dinner party you wish you were invited to. No one is expecting perfection, the fun is the point. And just because it\u2019s a dinner party doesn\u2019t mean you have to cook everything (or anything) yourself. Order from your favorite local spot, light a few candles, pour a drink, and set the mood with our latest Spotify Playlist. Whether you proudly share where the food came from or secretly plate it all before guests arrive is entirely up to you!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-style-large is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cA wig party! My husband used to throw wig parties back in the day, where everyone would show up wearing the most ridiculous wigs they could find. It&#8217;s so fun to see how people&#8217;s personalities and energy can change just by the simple act of having a different hairstyle or look for a night! It allows you to step outside yourself for a little bit and embrace a different or new part of yourself which is exciting to explore. Everyone has at least one outfit sitting in their closet that they bought and then either got too scared to wear, never had the right occasion for, or forgot about. I think it would make for some really funny conversations and stories.
