Nardine Abraham: Topography in Texture<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Nardine\u2019s \u201cOregon Wood Map,\u201d prominently displayed in the Residences Lobby, blends reclaimed wood and copper epoxy inlay to create an abstracted map of Portland. The Willamette River flows through the design, reflecting the natural rhythms of the region. Another one of her pieces \u201cOrganic Circle\u201d stuns in the lobby above the fireplace, and also utilizes her wood milling skillset. Nardine valued our team\u2019s collaborative approach, which brought design precision and artistic expression together seamlessly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rachel Austin: Mapping Portland\u2019s Essence<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rachel Austin\u2019s love for cartography and vintage maps shines through in her piece, \u201cPortland Cartography.\u201d Her work, featured in the elevator corridor, weaves acrylic paint with collaged maps to depict the Multnomah Falls area in a contemporary, textured style. Rachel described working with our KBAA team as a rewarding process that allowed her to explore Portland\u2019s unique geography through her artistic lens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Diana Majumdar: Layers of the Pacific Northwest<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

In the Club Lounge, Diana Majumdar\u2019s mixed-media painting on wood panels creates a serene and immersive atmosphere. Inspired by Oregon\u2019s Douglas Fir forests, Diana\u2019s intricate composition captures native tree branches and birds with lifelike detail. Working with KBAA, Diana relished the opportunity to bring an authentic slice of the Pacific Northwest indoors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

David Rice: A Contemporary Fauna Vision<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

\u201cImmune II,\u201d \u201cOregon Bluebird,\u201d and \u201cKyolo\u201d by David Rice are each displayed throughout the property, from the Owner\u2019s Lounge to the elevator corridor to the hotel conference area. David\u2019s style merges the natural and artificial, using geometry and bold colors to depict Oregon\u2019s fauna in new and exciting ways. Working with our team allowed David to explore how his modern approach could complement the hotel\u2019s timeless design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
